Meaning of Home Writing Contest

You can help raise money for Habitat for Humanity through the power of your words and telling us what home means to you.

From October 10th to November 30th, students in grades 4, 5, and 6 are invited to participate in Genworth Canada’s 11th annual national writing contest.

Contest entries can be submitted through www.meaningofhome.ca as a short story/essay, a poem or a video.

Last year, River Doherty of St. Andrew’s West was a runner-up in the contest with her poem, The Meaning of Home. As a runner-up, River generously directed a $5,000 grant to Habitat for Humanity Cornwall & The Counties, got to share a pizza party with her class and won an Ipod touch!
