Encourage students in Grades 4, 5 & 6 to write a short essay/poem by describing what “home” means to them. Genworth Canada, in partnership with Habitat for Humanity Canada, is holding a National Writing Contest from October 1st, 2014 until November 10th, 2014.
Top prize for the contest includes an iPad and Pizza party for their entire school with a grant of $60,000 awarded to the winner’s chosen Habitat affiliate. There are 5 runner-up prizes which include iPod touches, classroom Pizza parties and $5,000 grants awarded to the runner-up’s chosen Habitat affiliate. Contest is open for both English and French students of grades 4, 5 & 6 with Genworth Canada donating $5 per contest entry to a local Habitat affiliate in your area (Seaway Valley)
