It is with great pleasure that I get to announce that our “Women Build” participants have raised a total of $23,499.60 as of today. 605 volunteer hours 🔨, 129 volunteers 💪, 17 build days, 16 teams. (yes I’m a numbers nerd) 🤣
I can’t express enough the emotional roller-coaster this event has allowed me to feel. As a Women, I felt so very EMPOWERED to be part of the build process and a factor in the equation of a better place for the young Lauzon lads to call home. As a mother, I felt HOPE to see what we are achieving for our all the little girls that dare to dream of entering a career aimed at a predominantly male roles, although the women build does not exclude male participation, the goal is to have both male and female working side by side in partnership, as it should be. As a Habitat staff, PRIDE, proud to see so many participants not only helped us raise funds to offset the cost of the home build, but to see how eager they were to build the Lauzon family home with their very own hands is something I will never forget. I am so very GRATEFUL to have had the opportunity to meet so many amazing people.
Please keep an eye out for the launch of our Women Build program in early spring 2020. Here is to 9 more children, 4 adults and 2 more beautiful places to call home.
Thank you again to all our sponsors, food donors and volunteers!
