Build Volunteers
We work with hundreds of volunteers over a build season and many of them are beginners. How do we do it?
We have a core group of skilled volunteers who come out daily. Our construction staff divides volunteers into small teams to do a variety of tasks. All volunteers on site are led and supervised by our staff throughout the day. Because there is a wide range of skills represented in our volunteers, teams consist of experienced and less experienced people. Tasks designated are both appropriate and challenging to the skill level of each volunteer.

Please send completed volunteer forms to our Build Coordinator, Joanne at joanne@habitatcornwall.org.
Volunteers are encouraged to share with us any personal limitations they have so that we can give them safe and comfortable tasks to do. For example, we understand that very willing volunteers will also have to deal with things like a fear of heights or physical limits that inhibit their ability to do heavy lifting. Safety is top priority on the job site and every volunteer must participate in our safety orientation before working on a build!
